Tech savvy - looking for specific solar questions

Hi

I'm about to embark on installing solar flat roof panels DIY. I've sorted out all the theory and just looking for practical pointers. If any of my questions are on a page somewhere could you send me the link. (whenever I search I just get adverts)

PV panels on flat roof nearly ready to go.

Wiring - not sure on whether parallel or mixture for voltage. 2kW plus, seems quite high for cable current at low voltage (Of course only when bright sun from south in summer! )

Why does a DC battery system not work if mains power interrupted? (I have used small DC system off-grid on a boat)

Planning to get qualified sparks in for mains connection. Not worried about any refunds from anyone.

Is there a wiring diagram for PV, Inverter, battery etc easily available?

Hi,
I've just installed an off grid kit on. the roof of my home office I used this wiring diagram. PDF of basic panel/inverter/battery set up I run a separate circuit for solar as I will be running a larger solar kit on the main house which will act as a UPS for some house services and having multiple generation sources could get messy.
