    Sawdust as insulation

I brought it to the attention of the client and voiced my concerns about it. Her builder came round last night and is going to take up all the floors and remove the lot! Its definitely sawdust, I’ve just had to remove a couple of bin liners full!

    Sawdust as insulation

Cheers 👍🏻 Not too sure about the ‘non combustible’ qualities of sawdust! 💥  Or the insulation implications should cables have to run through the stuff!

    Sawdust as insulation

    What’s clinker Dave?

    Sawdust as insulation

Anyone come across this before? Just lifted a board on the first day of a job to be faced with five inches of sawdust between the ground and first floor. It’s everywhere too, not concentrated to one area.

Well can anyone suggest where I can get one because as far as I can see they are obsolete!

Circuit breaker compatible with GE EP61 range

Can anyone advise as to which mcb’s are compatible with the ge ep61’s? Need to swap one first thing tomorrow. Thought I’d seen a thread in the past about compatible circuit breakers but can’t fimd one now. Thanks in advance

    Is It To Late?

Never too late, I didn't start until I was 27, with a mortgage and a child on the way! I was lucky enough to fall in with a company who paid (albeit not much) while I trained so was gaining experience as I went along. Been at it for 8 years now and love it, was going to go SE later this year...

New Build, Meter Company Removed My Kmf :-(

Definitely a PME, unless they've stickered it up wrong! Probably best for me to sort it all myself and keep schtum!

New Build, Meter Company Removed My Kmf :-(

Cheers chaps, looks like I'll be on the blower to em tomorrow then! I do think dave2 has a good point tho, after all the meter cabinet isn't supplied fitted or maintained by them, so why should they be able to dictate what goes in it? Funny old world eh!

New Build, Meter Company Removed My Kmf :-(

Sounds fair enough, I know the meter box is for their equptment, but figured it saved them an isolator and gave me a fuse to protect my tails (which of course they did leave on site, so no theft going on there). The additional meter box is a good idea but not one which would have gone down well...

New Build, Meter Company Removed My Kmf :-(

Cheers Andy, but there is no break away bit over the terminals, it's one of the light grey plastic cut outs with no access as far as I can see to the terminals. It's a PME by the way. Also there is no alternative location for the KMF, which is why I put it there!

New Build, Meter Company Removed My Kmf :-(

1st fixed a new build in November where the position of the c/u was a fair way from the incoming supply so I installed a KMF switch in the meter cupboard, with tails to connect into the meter when fitted, and a main earth into a MET. Anyhow, checked it today as we start 2nd fix soon and the...

    A Glimpse Of The Future?

Myself and a colleague were in the local greasey spoon one morning and there was a table of what you ugh the refer to as the 'dregs' of society, along with their kids. One of the kids was about 2, a real sweet looking girl, who was sat watching an iPad. When the poor thing dared to speak...

What Type Of Car/van Do You Use?

I've had very few probs with my Combo, but it is a bit tight on space so it'd depend how much gear you'd need to get in the back (and, as per other topic, only has 2 seats).

    Medium Sized Van (3 Seats)

Cheers for the replies peeps, will have to check the dimensions of the vans as it's the width which is the issue (we have a longish but narrow drive)! I like the look of the newer design Peugeot/Citroen/Fiat but only have up to about 3.5k to spend max and it seems to be the lower end of the...

    Medium Sized Van (3 Seats)

Hmmmm, transporter combi sounds interesting but had a transporter s few years ago and think it might be a bit big. Rear bench isn't really an option as space is limited in a Combo anyway, so to add seats would reduce it further!!! Will take a gander at Hiace too see what they are like, cheers...

    Medium Sized Van (3 Seats)

Anyone got any recommendations on medium sized 3 seater vans? Though it seems I'm limited to the Peugeot Expert/Citroen Dispatch/Fiat Scudo, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on these or any other ideas? I love my little Combo, but we've 2 boys and only 1 spare seat so it's no longer...

What sports have people taken up?

Never seen this before, have voted for rock climbing and running, and other. The other being surfing, which I guess is classed as watersports, but that has an alternative meaning which doesn't 'float my boat'!
