A tricky one? RCD or not?

Hi all - just to throw a spanner in the works - for any sub main, do the regs not require that the main earth be the same c.s.a as the phase conductors ? - i.e, if using 16mm t&e to supply a C.U because the c.p.c is 10mm, you would run a separate 16mm earth !!. In this case a garage sub main...

    CU recommendations

Hi all, I tend to stick with brands like hager, wylex or legrand. With the cheaper brands they become obsolete quickly and replacement breakers cost a fortune , if you can find them !!. Also with some of these cheapo contractor brands its a pain finding replacements if you dont know where it...

    P.I.R and the elusive C.U

also another question - niceic cert from 2006 is one pir consisting of 12 pages for all 3 flats and landlords supply. I thought that each flat c.u required its own pir or eic!!!, i.e, if you decided to sell the flats under this HIPS nonsense, you would be required to supply a separate cert for...

Well I thought that might interest you guys - lol. its maybe not obvious but theres only 2 stairs there from one level to another. Not really possible to move it as to the left is the wall to the communal coridoor, to the right is the bathroom !!!. Apparently the landlord claims that when he...

    P.I.R and the elusive C.U

Hi guys - this is a first pic for me so hope it works: http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq312/tpotsparky/Photo016.jpg this is the second of 3 flats, NIC report from 2006 didnt flag this as an issue in terms of its location, only that theres no r.c.d protection. All flats have the same 4 way...

    Gec Nightstor 100

Could try air source heat pump - no real need to change existing rads etc, and a hell of a lot cheaper than storage heaters !!!
  16. S

    night storage heaters

I agree with apache, I was lucky, council ripped out my storage heaters and put in air source heat pump wet central heating and its superb !!!. I would re-plumb and use what you already got I'm sure it will be far cheaper - it will cost ya a fortune in extra leccy, even on off peak !!!!
