I 've posted this a few times but it keeps cropping up and nearly threw me again last week .

So anyone working in older industrial premises can still come across earlier metalclad isolators and switchfuses such as MEM or Bill Switchgear .

These older ones have the silver handle on the front and when its switched OFF the flag indicator shows RED (as in STOP) ,when its ON flag shows GREEN (as in GO )

Then it was altered (Can't remember when) .

New ones when switched OFF show GREEN (as in safe)

When switched ON show RED (as in Danger)

Nearly threw me , last week when I peered through some racking ,erected in front of isolator to make sure it was off .

So take care out there!!!

There have been a few instances of this, which is why I now never go by colour alone. I must admit I have in the past, just that I now do not trust any visual indication.

Thank you for the reminder.

Can't edit the Smiley face from the word GO because of this timeout edit bloody thing !!! So my thread now looks stupid , sorry !!
