It pains me when people are willing to compromise the insulation by cutting bloody great holes in it, for the sake of vanity and a particular type of light fitting that was trendy.
IMHO a far far better solution is the modern alternative of flat panel LED light fittings that sit flush and give a very good light without compromising the insulation.
