the house prices in poorer parts of the Eu was speculative investors, they couldn't buy in the wealthier places so exported the property madness abroad. Bit like Cornwall, very poor area with sod all wages, but very high house prices due to wealthy types from the South East. I think the prices have since collapsed again with the demise of the banking sector.

Trade is good, it does change the world, but at what cost when built on debt? Its all fake!  :^O

I totally agree, both pure socialism and pure capitalism both have very serious flaws....Mainly that all our resources are finite so both models fall down....a whole other subject, One that I have tried to read up on but the depth of the subject is immense and very heavy. The model WE follow just now is the capitalism model which to "survive" needs continued growth...no growth we end up with deflation, if you have deflation that either means your debt increases if you have one OR the cash in your bank wont buy you as many pints of beer.....naturally not a great thing......and so on and on and on. Like I say a whole different albeit linked subject and basically the reason behind why we give countries aid and have things like the eu and other multi nation trade agreements. That's the way I understand it anyway.....but then the carp I read may be wrong lol. It's all a big game anyway and we are just mere pawns.

After listening to DC's claims about Russia and Isis today all I can say if that is the best you can come up with then BREXIT makes perfect sense.

Isis hoping the UK leaves the EU? How stupid is that.

Isis are probably hoping that the UK vote to remain AND that the EU makes us get rid of the UK border controls.....

let me see, who spends the required amount of dosh to be NATO members, us, and even we fiddle the figures a bit. NATO is our best defence against Russia, not the EU. As for ISIS, they are alrady a threat to the whole EU and not likely to stop cooperation anytime soon.

I heard somewhere (but can't actually find a link) that the few pathetic concesions DC negotiated (when he got not very much of the not very much he asked for) are going to be vetoed and won't actually happen anyway. So much for a "new deal"
