Yep,

BS 7288 no longer specifies that its products are suitable for use as additional protection within electrical installations under BS 7671.

Thus the product standard for the products now requires upstream RCD protection in the form of 61008/61009.

Therefore, no longer suitable for use under the requirements of BS 7671.

Their product standard has made them a product with no real life use of any value.

Is that just RCD fused spurs or does it apply to RCD sockets too??

All products covered by BS 7288 are now required to have upstream protection by  61008/9 type device @ 30mA for compliance with BS 7671.

What has changed, I have no idea, the product standard for sure, could be a mistake in that, could be that there is a technical reason,

BSi would need to answer that or PEL/23/1.
