Had a replacement CCTV PSU to fit today. Cables connecting the pcb to the transformer were all G/Y bar one which was white...Now this item was supplied from within the UK and all marked up to comply with various standards. Now i dont find it acceptable that the cables were incorrectly coded, but afaik BS7671 cannot be applied to the internals of the equipment. I Have put cable markers on to indicate what they actually are, and connected it up to restore the 14 cameras that weren't functioning in store. Still not entirely happy with what had been supplied.

What would you have done?

The internal wiring would be down to the product standard.

Most prohibit G/Y for anything other than earths.

I doubt that the CE mark is worth anything on the product TBH.
