You have my sympathy too Steps and I do HATE cats. I have two lovely labradors and refuse point blank to introduce a disgusting little kitty into the family no matter how much they moan. My back garden never gets soiled because of the hounds, but the front is a toilet for all the cats in my street. My next door neighbour has two very small kids and they are endlessly playing in cat carp and he has tried the gripper rod idea on his fences. We are both keen hunters and have some very state of the art weaponry which I think is going to make an appearance. Sure, the owners will miss the cat but will think the little runt has been knocked down. Cats are like rates - breeding like mad and a damn nuisance so IMO we are better off without them, just a shame you can't eat them!

i think the cat would come out on top mate, my girlfriends neverland dwarf was attacked and died shortly after, cant be sure it was a cat but pritty sure it was. they only weigh around 1.5 kg
I though as much. In one such incident I caught one cat stalking Jasper around the garden. Jasper was running away at every turn. I scared the cat off, but Jasper was spooked for hours and didn't eat anything till next day. His claws are very sharp, but I guess he's just not as agressive and strong as a cat.

I also vote for the culling of all cats.

Absolutely disgusting animals.

Like that has already been said, dog owners would get fined if they were caught.

What the hell makes cats so different?

Set up a poll and lets see how popular they really are.

this is an e.mail I got sent yesterday.....

NO CHANCE OF A FIVE STAR RATING THEN ?

AMIN'S HALAL RESTAURANT - 'CURRY MILE' - MANCHESTER

A Gas Board worker needed to use Amin's entrance in the basement to assist the

shop next door which had a gas leak.

The service worker went into the basement of Amins and discovered a butcher chopping meat, that's fine, but he was putting the meat in a crate on the floor (not good), but wait, there's more!

There were 20 dead rats on the floor. The service worker left the site, told his boss, and the city health inspectors moved in. They noticed that the so called 'rats' which were reported were no longer there, but upon seeing a padlocked door, instructed one of the cooks to unlock it.

This is what they found other workers doing behind the restaurant, in the open air ............

And the thing is, they never thought they were doing anything wrong!

(I've suddenly gone off Indian food!)

Irresponsible owners of cats and dogs are the real problem - too many of each in all cities. Anyway back to Steptoes problem.

'Get off my garden' is the only thing i found works - I have cats and like a bit of gardening so use it to keep moggies away from young plants. You will never make your garden completely cat proof, but make it difficult and they will find another route around yours. If they like you flower beds, buy a couple packs or the BBQ kebab skewers and create minefield for cats bums - can be amuisng to watch cats trying to pick a spot between spikes, especially if you have water pistol for when they are distracted ]:) . Ultimately you are trying to modify natural behaviour. It sound like your property is territory boundary between several cats, no doubt from several houses away. Hence turds not buried as markers. With a bit of effort ,including all above suggestions except murder, you can improve situation. Clean and wash down affected area you wish to protect to get rid of cat odours. Fence off or use anti-vandal spikes on walls. Spread 'get off my garden' (I warn you it smells pretty bad for a few days), or try cheap citrus based smelly stuff which is nicer, and may be better for long term options. Maintain regime for a few weeks, possibly months and moggies should move on to some other poor sod, hopefully the owner :pray

Electric fence energiser + metal tray + plastic food bowl + nice moist cat food. -ve electrode on tray +ve in the food. Job done
230v on a 500mA RCD to a stripped out piece of 2.5 ran across the top of the fence about 6" up works well too.

but the missus made me take it down after the bang. bad day explode

oh well,

it was very effective mind, I didnt realise just how good it was going to be,

I shoulda had the video camera on it.

So Cat's carp on your lawn, very rare, they instinctively cover it, tends not to work so well on grass

Now if you want to complain I have problems with Foxes carping on my lawn, such is life!!!

YEP, all over it, its not exactly a lawn per say, Ive got a 2&1/2 yr old.!!!! but it is all grass.

little bit about 3 or 4" wide between path and fence the missus has some flowers in and it is left alone.!

will deffo try that "get off" stuff this weekend though,

BUT,

between the citrus peel and the bang the other night nothing has happened since,

touch wood..........

Toms territory marking, I get it occasionally cos there were several unneutered toms in my area. Fortunately they seem to have gone :)

Keeping the grass short seems to help aswell.

thats a thought,

Ive only recently turfed the back, it was slabs before, so Ive been trying to let it get dug in before I cut it too short, 3-4" at the moment.

doesnt explain the front much though, its usually like just green soil I keep it pretty short.

Get a cat yourself, that works.I had the same problem, got my own cat now no problem as other cats dont come into her territory.

Cats are like marmite.
Cats are nothing like Marmite..... for starters they taste better.....

Cat problem? Nowhere to turn? If you can find them...... You can call on the A Team (A for Anti-Cat) There is a real genuine hitman or should that be hitcat who will for expenses come and eradicate your cat problem....

Failing that, pop into your local chinese tonight, mentioning the area where you live and the abundance of free local meat er I mean cats..... Within a few days I am sure you will see a marked difference.....
