Nice to hear someone else thinks like me :) I finally managed to get a coherent response from Dorman Smith, they even sent me a wiring diagram for their 4 pole RCCB.

    Three Phase RCD

I know Ive use a 4 pole on three wire, but I cant remember how I got the test button to operate. Im sure I had to put a resistor in across one of the phases and the neutral way of the RCD. Any ideas?

Any Guidance for going Self Employed

I know a couple of guys who have seen their work dry up and had to take a job, ask yourself where you see the rest of your work coming from. If you have an answer then go for it, if not then try and get an answer.

    Main Bond

Bonding seems to be a happy subject so here is a little question for you all. I have been asked to T&I a commercial building and have been over for a quick look at it before I submit a price. As I looked at the incomer and mains board I noticed the main bonding conductor (singular, 10mm2)...

    Telephone Sockets

The insulation is the same, unless you get LSF or Tri-rated, but singles are stranded conductors and therefore easier to manipulate

    How does a transformer work?

You are also throwing power into the mix, so not only do you have ohms law (V=IR) you have P=VI (Power=Volts * Amps). It can get confusing but try and keep the two separate and if one seems to be giving crazy answers, use the other
