But if the AC covers everything why would you even want the DI. I have both and tbh I do not know why. We would never say we were DI however.

You're not deemed competent (or whatever they call it now) until you have signed the cheque!

Yes, you have to be a registered Domestic Installer to carry out Part P domestic installations

For instance you could be an AC specialising in railway installations and never touch domestic

,,,, so would that mean that you are aware of all the relevant building regs that go with domestic work??

I just looked at their site and it says an AC is covered to carry out domestic works under that badge.

anyone can do domestic work FFS just certain things that must be notified to the LABC who don't give a flying fork

The only people who give a monkeys (sorry flup) are the ones who have carved their existence out of numbers.

However if you are register as an AC only,,, I don't think that you will be added to the Part P competent Persons scheme register
So you may not be able to notify works through the AC route is what you are saying?

I'd imagine so,,,,, I think that DI is automatically added though so you'd have to ask for it to be removed

You're not wrong there Duckie,,, however here in Wales we have a little more than over in England.....Lets not mention "that place" though ;)

I'm pretty certain that by the time I finally complete my own rewire the only thing that will need notifying under partP will be the fact that it's a house,

So will be nothing to do with the scams.
